What are the Bipolar Symptoms in Women?
Bipolar disorder is a mental illness with severe mood swings. the symptoms affects women in different ways, they vary from low to high. Hormone plays an important role in causing bipolar disorder symptoms. Women who are already suffering from bipolar disorder have more mood fluctuations during menstruation cycles, pregnancy and menopause.
Depression
During depressive episodes a women can undergo the following things
- May have crying spells,
- Become hopeless and feels unattractive,
- Food intake can be reduced or increased,
- Suicidal thoughts may come to their mind
Manic
A woman may feel optimistic, attractive and creative person during the manic episodes. Energy level is increased sleepless and wants to complete lots of task at a time
Hypomania
Hypomania is a lighter form of mania in which extreme highs did not occur. This is a severe form of bipolar disorder which is usually occurs in bipolar 2.
Mixed State
In this state a woman suffers with both the episodes manic and depressive at the same time. in this generally a woman feels hopeless and sad and she become hyperactive.
Rapid Cycling
Depending upon the condition of woman with rapid cycling the mood varies from highs to lows. Each episode remains for few hours or a period of 2to 3 days.
